All you Paul Newman fans out there, here???s a hard fact for you to digest. According to long time neighbor and business associate, writer A.E. Hotchner, it seems our beloved award winning 83 year old hero of yesteryears is suffering from cancer and is vehemently fighting against it.
Hotchner, who partnered the Newman???s Own owner in his salad dressing business, spoke to Associated Press about the veteran though he did not divulge the type of cancer he was suffering from. He said that Newman had hinted about it to him about a year and a half ago. Other acquaintances of Newman reveal that he is taking the treatment well and is expected to recover soon.
Hotchner might be tacit about the type of cancer but a few months ago it was believed that Newman, a chain smoker, might be suffering from lung cancer as he had reportedly been under the care of an oncologist at a cancer treatment centre earlier this year. He had also undergone a cancer emergency surgery.
He co-founded the Hole in the Gang Camp, a charity organization for children suffering from life threatening illnesses, in 1988. I hope this classy actor who has acted in more than 50 Hollywood films including classics like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Hustler and Cool Hand Luke recovers soon.
