It has been almost six months since Jessica Simpson filed for divorce from Nick Lachey. According to TMZ both of them are quite close to be single again, they obtained a legal document , signed by both Nick and Jess that asks for a retired judge to be appointed specifically to enter a divorce decree.
That means they are asking to ‘bifurcate’ the lawsuit, then the divorce will become final and both the parties can settle down their financial matters. The document needs to be signed off by the presiding judge so that another judge can issue divorce decree.
And soon we will see both of them battling over money, as according to the law Nick owns fifty percent of their gross income. Jessica earned tens of millions last year but she is just offering $1.5 million to Nick.
