Wearing a demure shell-pink dress and a burgundy hair ribbon, Hollywood actress collected Australia’s greatest civil honour-the Companion of the Order of Australia.

With her parents Janelle and Antony and hubby Keith Urban, in the audience, the 39-year old actress said that her parents would be more proud than when she won an Oscar for portraying Virginia Woolf in ‘The Hours.’

Kidman stated,

It’s a pat on the back, which as a little girl is something you dream of.

The award is Australia’s equivalent to a Knighthood and was also given to two Nobel Prize winning medical researchers and the country’s top economic adviser.
