With Operation Taj being over, a pitched battle between the holed up terrorists, two in number and the NSG commandos is finally over with both the terrorists dead. The mopping up process is taking place now.
The last hours of 59 hours of ordeal saw Old Taj being devoured with fire, the whole world watched with bated breath the finale of the whole operation in which the official death toll is 152 and more than 400 injured.
There was continuous exchange of fire between the security personnel and the terrorists inside, who were obviously well prepared as they had more than enough ammunition to last for so long.
As the news coming out two terrorists were working in the House keeping Department of Taj that is why they had a very clear idea of the topography and layout of the rooms in the sprawling hotel.They were later joined by their other group members.
The NSG had to work blindfolded as they were sitting ducks to the bullet attack by terrorists,as Late Major Sandeep had to pay with his life. He was behind a pillar when he was easily shot dead by one of the terrorists from behind.
There are so many details which are yet to received,but one thing is clear these 59 hours of sheer terror have changed the lives of Indians especially Mumbaites. The repercussions will be disastrous for all.
