Oprah Winfrey was in tears begging for forgiveness from the parents of her school in Henley-on-Klip for allegations of abuse of pupils at her girls’ school.
The talk-show queen had started a girls’ school at Henley-on-Klip near Vereenigin, South Africa as part of her social drive to help the girls of Africa. Unfortunately, for Oprah the Principal and matrons of her school did not share her vision.
There was allegation that one of the matrons fondled a girl and other pupils were physically abused. The principle Dr. Mzimane failed to take any action against the offenders.
Oprah has been visiting the school for the past two weeks after the complaints of abuse reached her. She has sent two of the matrons and the principal on leave. To win back the confidence of the pupils and their parents she gave them her personal telephone number, her e-mail address so that the students could contact her any time.
