Man, talk about identity crisis. Apparently P. Diddy is dissatisfied with his name. Again. And this time he???s looking to change it back to the one his parents gave him.
The king of hip hop, whose real name is Sean John Combs, has previously changed his name from Puff Daddy, to P. Diddy to simply Diddy , and he now wants to be known by his real Christian name Sean John.
Since most of us living in the ordinary (read: normal) world tend to be stuck with our birth names for a lifetime, the entertainer offers us the valuable insight that in the realm of hip hop it???s more than normal to have multiple identities.
He tells the Daily Star:
I have always evolved and taken a different name each time. It???s nothing unusual where I come from. Right now I want to be Sean John because that???s where I am.
I don???t have a problem with hip hop artists changing names depending on where they are at in their lives as long as I don???t have to go out and buy an album by an artist called ???Honey buns??? or ???Fru-Fru???!
