American idol judge Paula Abdul now will have to fight a lawsuit filed against her by a production company claiming Paula sold their original idea of making a reality show on her life to another company.

The lawsuit was filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Pilgrims and Television (PFTV) production company that is suing Paula Abdul. According to lawsuit, the company met Paula and her production partner David Russo in 2004 and during their meetings they talked about developing a talk show that will be hosted by Paula Abdul.

The pair later agreed upon creating a reality show ‘Hey Paula’ on her bizarre showbiz life.

The company then accuses Paula Abdul for going behind their back and selling the show to the Bravo network. Bravo is still planning to air episodes in the next couple weeks.

The company representatives said,

She had secretly taken PFTV’s Hey Paula project…to (rival US network) Bravo.

The PFTV would like to receive compensation for the damages this incident caused the company.

However, Abdul rebuffed these allegations and said that the project was based on her life and it was her idea.

TMZ quoted her saying,

While I’m not going to respond to this baseless lawsuit, I will say that Hey Paula is based upon my life and my ideas. Last I heard, I still own my own life.
