Pop singer Pete Burns has tied nuptials with his boyfriend Michael Simpson. This is his second marriage for which the Dead Or Alive singer got dressed up as a bride.
Burns, first marriage with Lynne Corlett ended in a divorce, in 2006 after more than twenty years of togetherness.
Later in 2006, Burns announced his engagement with boyfriend, Michael Simpson, publicly on Channel 4 and the two even exchanged matching rings made by designer Vivienne Westwood. However things went little bitter which made them call off the engagement only a day after the announcement as Simpson found it hard to cope up with his new identity by the public.
Their relationship worsed when Burns was arrested in March after a fight broke between the two but slowly, once again the couple rekindled their relationship.
For the wedding with Simpson, Burns, 47, arrived in a silver Mercedes that was adorned with ribbons. In typically eccentric style, he went for the Geisha-girl look in a white kimono, with stark make-up and jet-black hair.
His long-term love Simpson was all dressed up in a white suit and clogs for the ceremony. Simpson reached three minutes after You Spin Me Round star, at the civil partnership ceremony in the Royal Society of Arts building in central London.
The two were surrounded by a TV crew, which I presume were filming for day-to-day life for Living TV. The Eighties star’s second wedding went on till the wee hours of the morning.
Burns is still friends with his ex-wife Lynne. Lynne also says that Burns began dating Simpson when she was still married to him.
