A recent report says that The Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA), Islamabad will organize a Chicken food Festival on March 28th to ward off the apprehensions attached to the consumption of chicken at the outset of bird flu. This is response to the falling demand for chicken in the country. As per an official at the Poultry Research Institute:

According to our estimates, demand for chicken meat and its products has declined by 40 to 45 percent.

In Islamabad, where the majority of population consume chicken the chicken food festival is not only a step to revive the market but also dispel all fears related to consuming chicken is Islamabad and hopefully the citizens will understand that if chicken is cooked at a higher temperature sans the bones, it can be as safe as consuming beef and mutton.
