Following the research on Mediterranean diet on heart health is the latest study in connection to Alzheimer and the Med diet, scheduled to be published in the December 2006 issue of Archives of Neurology. Facts provided by NBC claims that the main content of the Mediterranean Diet in seafood, fruits and vegetables, olive oil, legumes, grain, meat and other proteins can reduce the risk of Alzheimer.

Though any evidences do not back the study, yet it affirms previous research on proteins by Washington University of Medicine, St Louis, which points out that a rich protein diet can prevent the deposition of amyloidal proteins that form tangles in the brain. However, Mediterranean cuisine can serve a good dietary model for those Alzheimer patients who are not sure of the food they consume at the end of the day.
