A celebrity being sued for $1 million is not a surprising news, but if that celebrity is Queen Latifah then the news is not only surprising but totally unbelievable. Anyway, term it unbelievable but there’s news that Queen Latifah has been sued by two of her employees. She owes her stylist $300,000 and her cosmetologist $700,000 in back pay.
The Daily News reports that cosmetologist Roxanna Floyd and stylist Susan Moses have filed two separate lawsuits against Latifah. They have alleged that they???ve been stiffed out of $1 million for their work on Latifah???s CoverGirl ad campaign, as well as the star???s ???Curvations??? line of intimate apparel. However, Latifah’s spokeswoman, Amanda Silverman, has diplomatically rubbished the lawsuits as “without merit.”
I think it’s too early to guess anything as we still have to hear Queen Latifah’s version of the story. Moreover, defaming lawsuits like these ones have become an easy source to earn huge amounts of money. I don’t know why but I’m not ready to buy this story. And I’m sure I’m not the only one to feel this way because Queen Latifah is not one of those junk celebrities who are devoid of any compassion for the lesser souls.
Let’s hope Queen Latifah speaks up soon and honor our belief in her.
