George Clooney who had triple nomination at this year’s Academy Award won the awards for Best Supporting Actor for his breathtaking performance in Syriana. Clooney’s other two nominations were Best Original Screenplay and Best Director for the movie Good Night and Good Luck but both awards were given away to Crash and Brokeback Mountain respectively.
In his winning speech he said ‘so I am not winning Best Director.’ Apparently he was deeply touched with the honor as he said that now this award will remain synonymous with his name now onwards he will be called Oscar winner George Clooney.
Rachel Weisz, was awarded with the honor of Best supporting actress for the portraying Tessa Quayle in The Constant Gardener.
