The rough guy with cool whiskers and skirmish propensity is all set to use his sensuous ability and romantic phrases (and that too with a bonanza of seven young ladies). Randeep Hooda (better known as Sushmita Sen’s Boyfriend) is shelving his old image and is donning an impish guy who is a single man in Mumbai.
Hooda hooks up with actresses Rituparno Sengupta, Riya Sen, Jesse Randhawa, Divya Dutta, Sada, Kalpana Pundit and Rakhi Sawant. With all the cops and gangsters roles in Hooda’s backpack this role he claims to be closest to his real self and he is perceptibly enjoying working with the lustrous female brigade.
The movie directed by south Indian director Srinivas seems to be ‘Garam Masala’ clone in terms of subject but nevertheless tough guy Hooda is doing the management chores all by himself (Akshay was lucky to have John’s services in ‘Garam Masala’!).
Randeep said:
This is a slice of life kind of a comedy movie. Its about what happens to a young single man in Mumbai and his experiences with 7 different kind of women and what he learns from it.
For the small town guy from Rohtak who has done diverse roles, he has come a long way.
He further said:
When I first played a role in Mira Nair’s “Monsoon Wedding” I didn’t know anything about acting. It was a shot in the dark… Actually “D” is many shots in the dark… considering it’s a gangster film.

Known for his earlier roles in ‘Risk’, ‘D’, ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’ and much acclaimed ‘Monsoon Wedding ‘it is the first time he goes supple. The movie is a light-hearted romantic comedy and surely an unusual flick for Hooda.
