Rare Beatles audio to go under the hammer

It looks like the year 2010 is the lucky year for the fans of Beatles. It was just a couple of weeks back that a set of never-before-seen photos of the Beatles went on display at London???s Menier Gallery, and now there’s even more for the hungry Beatles fans. A rare audio recording from a press conference given by the Beatles in 1966 is all set to go under the hammer this summer.

According to Contactmusic,

The audio includes John Lennon being grilled by journalists over his controversial comment in which he claimed the band was “more popular than Jesus”. The 14-minute reel, recorded during a press event in Toronto, Canada, lay undiscovered in a drawer for more than 40 years and will now go on sale at auction house Bonhams & Butterfields in Los Angeles on 13 June (10). The tape is expected to sell for between $20,000 to $25,000 (£13,333 to £16,667).

Prep up yourselves to win the loot with your highest bid, you crazy Beatlemaniacs! And expect more to come, because I’m sure 2010 is hiding much more in its kitty.
