Rare Marilyn Monroe pics up for auction

The final installment of rarities belonging to screen icon Marilyn Monroe is up for grabs via online auction. Four of her ultra-rare pics taken at the Cal Neva resort in Nevada just five days before her death are set to go under the hammer with a starting bid of $7,500 (£5,000).

The photos, part of a set of 36 photos taken of Monroe and Frank Sinatra during the summer of 1962, have been released by legendary pianist Buddy Greco. Unfortunately, only six photos (including two of Sinatra) remain because the rest 30 were stored in a safe-deposit box at the World Trade Center and were destroyed in the 9/11 attacks.

A sure shot treat for true Monroe fans. Meanwhile, can you guess my favorite Monroe pic? Hit the jump and enjoy.
