Hughes introduced the most loved teen cult star of the ’80s, Molly Ringwald, who debuted with his Sixteen Candles and then went on to star in his Pretty in Pink.

Shattered Ringwald advanced her condolences with a heavy heart saying, “He was and will always be such an important part of my life. He will be missed ??? by me and by everyone that he has touched. My heart and all my thoughts are with his family now.”

Hughes, 59, died of a heart attack that he suffered during a morning walk.
