How to roast peanuts

Instructions

Removing the skin

Shell out the peanut. Freeze it for approximately eight hours. Take out the skin of the peanuts by rubbing them. If some of the peanuts are left with skin leave them as they are. Another way to remove the skin is to roast the peanut with shell in an oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-5 minutes. Take them out and allow it to cool for some time. Now rub and remove the skin off.

Blanching

Blanch the peanuts in the boiled water for 2-3 minutes. Strain out the water and dry them with towel before cooking.

Spreading on cookie sheet

Spread the peanuts on the cookie sheet evenly in a thin layer. Spread a little oil with help of a brush before spreading the peanuts on it.

Oven roasting

Preheat the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the peanuts in a baking pan in the oven. The time for cooking un-shelled peanuts is 20 to 25 minutes and for shelled peanuts is 15 to 20 minutes.

Microwave roasting

Take a microwave container and put 2 cups of shelled raw peanuts in it. Brush the peanuts with little butter before putting it in the microwave. Place the container in the microwave and treat it on high for two minutes and take out to stir. Repeat the process at regular interval of 2 minutes for 10 minutes. You are done with light roasted peanuts. You can increase the time of roasting to 12 minutes for regular roasted peanuts.

Oil roasting

Heat oil in a deep frying saucepan to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Add two cups of peanuts to the oil and keep stirring it regularly. Take out the peanuts after 5 minutes of deep frying and tissue the oil on napkins or paper towel.

Seasoning

Let the peanuts cool for sometime after taking out from the oven and then add seasoning and salt according to taste. You can use herbs, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, cinnamon or a light dusting of sugar for seasoning.
