How can I explore white rum more?

For pina coladas I prefer to use a gold rum, like Mount Gay, and I really like them better on the rocks than frozen. My basic rum drinks recipe includes one 1/2 oz white rum, pineapple juice, grenadine or some cranberry juice. When I want a less sweet taste, I put 3/4 oz of Meyers rum on top of it. But, now I want to taste something that will make me fall in love with rum all over again. How can you help me? I want to explore white rum more, what are my options?
