The anchor of ‘Good Morning America” has successfully undergone surgery for the treatment of breast cancer on August 3. The 46-year-old, who was diagnosed of cancer at quite an early stage, has no family history of the disease and is reported to be home from the hospital.
Robin Roberts’s mother and sister traveled from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans to be with her during the difficult time of surgery.
Winner of three Emmy awards, she disclosed during the live broadcast of Good Morning America on July 31 this year that she herself was suffering from beast cancer. Roberts had noticed a lump through self-examination the day she was working on Joel Siegel’s (Siegel died from colon cancer) farewell on her show.
Although the doctors do not know the long-term impact of the surgery but our wishes of good health and a speedy recovery are with the amazing woman.
