Robin Wright Penn on being a model

This may not be very encouraging for girls who’re eying modeling as a career. Who can be better than a model turned actress to tell about the price of this glamorous fashion industry. Robin Wright Penn, who like many actresses took up modeling as a staircase to Hollywood, was “f***ed” up being a model.

“It was destructive to the self-esteem. It f***ed me up. Big time. I’d hear the most awful things, like, ‘Her legs aren’t long enough. Her t*ts aren’t big enough. Next!’ There’s no respect for you as a human being. You’re a commodity.”

However, acting opportunity in commercials gave her the real respite.

If twenty years back such was the scenario, one can well imagine what it would be like now. The glamour, fame and success is just superficial aspect of the dark fashion world.
