Stingy old rocker Rod Stewart wants to get lucky the third time by marrying Penny Lancaster. Quite contrary to his tightfisted image, Stewart is splashing big bucks on his third marriage, or may be his fiancee has got hold of his credit card.
The £1Million plush lavish wedding is happening at the exclusive Portofino resort on the Italian Riviera in June and all the guests will be flown in by private jets. The uber exclusive Hotel Splendido, where late actor Richard Burton proposed the first time he married screen legend Liz Taylor in the Sixties, is being thought of as the most probable venue.
Following the traditional wedding ceremony, the guests will be Sailing to party on a luxury yacht. Guests on the preliminary list include Elton John, David Furnish, Mick Jagger, Billy Connolly and former soccer star Kenny Dalglish. Hotel Heiress Paris Hilton, who is a close pal of Rod’s daughter Kimberly has also been invited to the grand affair along with her sister Nicky Hilton.
Rod became a father for the seventh time in November 2005, at the old age of 60, when his fiancee Penny gave birth to Alastair. The oldie was married to actress Alana Hamilton from 1979 to 1984. Following the failed first marriage he tied the nuptial knot with model Rachel Hunter in 1990. After a divorce from the supermodel the last year, Rod wants to get third time lucky.
