Till now the rural areas people of Nepal are deprived from using the facility of electricity, road drinking water health, education and other many things. Approximately 40 percent of the Nepalese people live below the poverty line. The rural area people mainly depend in farming for their livelihood. The bitter truth is that Nepal has many resources but they are not used properly.

Development is in slow motion. No development programs are done regularly, continuously and systematically. Day by day people are suffering from various problems. People are mainly suffering from poverty, health care, education, clean drinking water and sanitation services. Rural poor people are generally illiterate, have large families, and are landless or have very small landholdings.

The political parties of Nepal are debating with each other for chair. They are doing politics for their own sake not for the sake of the public people. People are made puppets. They are by many wonderful things in the election time. In fact political leaders are so much talent to give speech. They take people to the heavenly world by speech not in practice.

The constitution has provided many sorts of rights to people. Rules and regulations are made so well but in practice they are not implemented. Specially hilly and Himalayan region people are deprived from development programs. Because of poor growth in the agricultural sector, living standards in rural areas are deteriorating and poverty is increasing.

The growing population has put huge pressure on cultivable land, especially in the Terai region, which also supports many landless migrants from the hills Today is the era of communication and technology. Till now there are such remote places where we should go by foot. People have even seen the vehicles. We can evaluate the plight of remote areas from the literacy rate also. If we compare the literacy rate of rural area and the city area we can find vast difference. Government and people both are responsible for the development of rural areas. Both parties should be responsible and work in collaboration.

We can find many factors in increasing poverty. Lack of awareness and education is one of the major causes. People are unaware about what to do and how to do the development. Most of them are uneducated. These remote areas lack leading people. Many resources are available and also we can find many ways to improve the economic status. But technologies to utilize the resources are not found there.

People do have no ideas to utilize the things, available in the local area. No mechanisms are provided by the government for the utilization of the resources. Social discrimination plays a significant role in keeping the most disadvantaged people in rural Nepal poor and marginalized.

No job opportunities are available in rural area. Poor families are often obliged to send their children to work rather than to school. In this way the poverty cycle is perpetuated into the next generation. It is estimated that about one quarter of the children in Nepal between four and five years old are engaged in some kind of family or wage labor.

So the trend of migration towards city area is developing day by day. The so called government is blind toward development of the rural areas. Little bit of development are done in city area. Due to poverty all youths are working in foreign countries for their livelihood. Different friendly countries are funding for the development of Nepal in various sectors. But the mobilization of budget done by the government is unknown to the civil people. Political instability had also played vital in increasing poverty. People for many years were compelled to live facing terrorism.

To solve these sorts of problems government should be truly responsible. People are also responsible but the government should be more responsible. For the rural development government should bring clear cut vision and also mention that how to do development systematically and regularly in short period. Qualified and trained personnel should be recruited for the completion of the given task by the government.

Rules and regulation should be strictly used. Development of positive thinking toward nation and nationality is also quite important for the rural development- which is the base to reduce the poverty. Different sorts’ useful trainings should be given to the people. People should be mobilized where needed. Technological and scientific knowledge and attract the people and other nation for the rural development.

Mass media should also play vital role for the welfare of country and people. But in Nepal mass media are working especially for political parties. They are run by political parties for their development not for the people and country. All should develop the sense that development is to we all. These concepts may bring new era in the rural areas. If these concepts are applied and done seriously definitely the virus of poverty will get the death penalty.
