Rajnikanth’s fan club wanting a wax statue of the Tamil superstar to be installed at the Madam Tussaud’s Museum in London has received a major blow, as Tussauds has finally chosen Salman Khan to be a part of their wax museum.

In a poll conducted by the museum, entertainment magazine Ikonz and BBC Asian Network, Salman emerged a clear winner beating other Indian stars including Abhishek Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukerji, Lata Mangeshkar, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol and many more.

Though officials have not yet declared the number of individual votes, they mentioned that it was a landslide victory for Salman with Ahishek Bachchan scoring just next to him. Salman will now join the entourage of Bollywood actors, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan already immortalized at the museum.

According to Ben Lovett, PR Manager for Madame Tussauds:

Over 10,000 fans and visitors voted in our poll, and we’re over the moon that Salman Khan is the winner. The Asian market is critical to our attraction and our association with Bollywood, particularly the launch of Shah Rukh Khan earlier this year has seen a dramatic increase in the number of Asians, from both the UK and abroad, visiting and enjoying Madame Tussauds. We hope to build upon this exciting relationship with the unveiling of Salman.

Salman has also given his consent to sit for the Madame Tussauds sculptors. With the statue to be officially unveiled early next year, we are keen to see whether Salman will make it close to Ash this time or not?
