Sandra Bullock’s magnificent lip-lock with Scarlett Johansson (video after the jump) at Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards clearly stands out as one of the most passionate and spontaneous girl-on-girl action onstage, but it was more about passion than spontaneity. There are fresh reports claiming that the smooch was scripted well in advance – by Sandra Bullock!
The New York Daily News reports,
“Scarlett was originally supposed to present a different award with Zac Efron, but when Sandy heard Scarlett would be there, she reached out to her,” says an insider. “It was a preplanned, scripted kiss the producers knew about – and it was Sandra’s camp’s idea.” Bullock was no doubt encouraged by the attention she got when she planted a wet one on Meryl Streep at the Critics Choice Movie Awards, which aired on VH1 in January. But the latest smooch seen ’round the world may never have happened if Scarlett wasn’t such a brave soul. A source close to Johansson says the Broadway babe was “obviously more than fine with it” but got a preshow pep talk from Bullock to ensure it. We hear the pair talked about their presenting tactic the night before at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards.
Pre-planned or not, I’m perfectly fine with Sandra and ScarJo hitting the labial note with such ecstasy and dedication. Both of these gorgeous women are my favorites and I’m glad they did it. And it should not come as a surprise if this magical smooch acts as the final bandage on Sandra’s already healing wounds because, you know, ScarJo is such a great kisser. Cheers to both of you!
