Sanjay puts up a brave face – Prefers to head to Jail

Sanjay Dutt is a tough man or as it may seem. The bollywood star has said that he will not appeal for any pardon and will surrender within the time frame suggested by the court. The voices for offering clemency to the star have been rising by the day and politicians and judicial officials have been advocating the same.

Laying rest to all the speculations in this regard, Sanjay Dutt has come in front of media and issued a statement saying that he intends to surrender before the authorities soon. Sanjay who broke down during the interaction with the press said that there were a lot more people who deserved pardon and he thanked people for their support and said that he does not seek any pardon and will surrender before the authorities.

The bollywood star has been sentenced to a five year term by Supreme Court in 1993 Mumbai blasts and has already served 18 months in prison before being released on bail. The star appealed to the media to leave him alone. He said with folded hands that he is going through tough times and does not wish to interact with anyone at this juncture.

Perhaps, the situation is quite understandable as the star was expecting a repreival from the court as he had already served 18 months in prison. Those advocating clemency for the bollywood star too took a reference from this fact that he had already spend 18 months in Jail.

However, this assumption does not hold much weight with the law authorities as everyone irrespective of their social stature is equal in the eyes of law.  Sanjay Dutt realizes this and has come out with a firm statement that he will abide by the law and will go to the prison instead.

This lays to rest the speculations that he was considering approaching the state government for some lenient approach on his case. The politicians who wanted to cash in on the emotive issue for the star too have suffered a blow from this statement of Sanjay Dutt.

Many noted personalities including Markandey Katju and Jaya Bachchan have shough a pardon for the star. However, political parties have decided to comment on the issue with care. Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi has said that the party will not comment on an issue that is under preview of the law.

Meanwhile Sanjay Dutt has decided to complete off all his shootings before he goes off to prison. He ventured off his home in Bandra for the first time since the Supreme Court sentence. Sanjay addressed the media before leaving off for his pending shootings. Over 250 crores will be struck if the shootings are not completed, hence the star decided to rush through the same.
