After five years of marriage NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal wants to divorce wife Shaunie. O’Neal filed for a divorce from his wife in Miami on Tuesday claiming ‘the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.’
O’Neal and Shaunie tied the knot in 2002 and have four children-ages 1-7-together. They each have a child from earlier relationships.
Shaq is said to have made Shaunie sign a pre-nup agreement before they tied the knot. The sport star also accuses his wife of being ‘secretive about her assets … particularly with respect to certain properties owned or titled in either (her) name alone or in other entities.’
Shaq also asks the court to require Shaunie to give an accurate account of all assets acquired during their marriage. O’Neal recommends that his wife be ‘primary residential custodian’ of their children and asks for ‘liberal rights of visitation.’
