She’s there because of her looks, not because of her contribution to the music industry: Sharon on Dannii

The X-Factor is fast changing to Row factor, with the disagreements, both onscreen and offscreen, between judge Sharon Osbourne and her fellow panellist, Dannii Minogue, becoming increasingly frequent and almost fun to behold.

The latest accusation that the 55 year-old Sharon hurled at Danii is,

She [Dannii] knows she’s there because of her looks, not because of her contribution to the music industry. She’s younger, she’s better-looking, Simon wants her and he doesn’t want me – thank God.

This, however, shouldn’t come as a surprise to those who witnessed Sharon quit the sets after a heated argument with the 36-year-old Australian star not very long back.

Dannii, too, had her share of storming out of the sets, when Sharon was spotted happily giggling at the not-so-sweet Louis Walsh, The X Factor’s other judge, playfully directed at Dannii’s singing abilities.

To insult Dannii, Sharon also used to her advantage the fact that Dannii’s latest single failed to reach Top 20 charts. News is, Sharon, at one time, had threatened to quit the show for good after a usual tiff with Dannii offscreen.

Simon Cowell, the program’s supreme, notorious for his wisecracks and too-candid statements, seems to be having a good time at the expense of the other two judges, just like the eight million viewers of the show. Let alone trying to ease the tension between the two women, Simon attempted to add fuel to the rivalry by commenting that the two ladies actually compete for his attention and get jealous when he pays the other more attention!

At the start of the new season, American choreographer, Brian Friedman replaced Walsh. Miss Minogue, Kylie’s younger sister, brought in as the fourth judge, hardly gelled with Sharon. Friedman was quickly designated ‘Creative Director’ when he fell out with the other panelists. What exactly is happening? Is there something in the air at the X factor sets?! That must be so, if we are to believe the judges when they say that the rows are not set up for popularity.
