The one and only millionaire slumdog has just been tamed by Hollywood director Manoj Night Shyamalan. Dev Patel, who shot to fame with Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, has been cast by Shyamalan for his supernatural martial-arts movie The Last Airbender.
The move is based on Emmy-winning animated TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender and is the first in a trilogy planned by Shyamalan. The super-success of Slumdog Millionaire has definitely worked wonders for the 18-year-old actor. Now it is up to Shyamalan to chisel Dev and give him a perfect form by exploiting his acting potential. And I don’t doubt Shyamalan’s capability.
As for Dev Patel, he has already put his first step on the road to success. Shyamalan’s project will further help him in making a solid debut in Hollywood. And if Slumdog manages to convert a couple of Oscar nominations into trophies, then Dev is sure to be a sought after item. Wishing him all the best!
