It is common for actors, singers, musicians to be partying late into the night. But, what is odd is to see them partying when they are believed to be working hard at bringing out a new album. This is what happened last week.
Smile singer Lily, who is supposed to be working hard in the studio mastering her hugely anticipated second album, was seen partying until the early hours in Punk, Soho. She was accompanied by her best friend T4 presenter Miquita Oliver, her little brother Alfie Allen, and his new girlfriend actress Jaime Winstone.
When she emerged from the club, she looked rather haggard, drunk and was struggling to stand still and teetering off balance. We heard that the star has been partying back to back for the whole week.
On Monday, she had to be carried from a car into the home of her new party companion Camilla Fayed. That time she was partying at London’s Shoreditch House for the launch of Fashion House Chloe’s summer 2008 collection. At the end of the party Lily was unable to walk and had to be carried to the door and then helped inside by her companions.
Lily seems keen on keeping her wild child image even as she continues partying beyond 4.30am, though drunk and unstable. Critics feel that Lily’s weeklong non-stop partying is to celebrate her TV show, which is set to debut on BBC Three next year.
The show will feature an audience of select guests from her MySpace ‘friends list’. Another development in Lily’s life is the offer of a major TV role, as an assistant on the hit show Dr. Who.
However, what is the use of all the fame if she is found dead drunk on the streets of London every morning has to be carried home. This will not only affect her health and well being but her image as a professional too. It is time she pulled herself up and started working more and partying a wee little less.
