Starch Lite to reduce the Glycemic Index of Starchy Products

A recent report announces the launch of StarchLite by Pharmachem Laboratories, Inc., producer of dietary supplements. StarchLite is a natural ingredient that claims to delay the absorption and digestion of carbohydrates leading to a reduction in overall calories from starchy foods. This ingredient was tested in various baked goods testing the Glycemic Index, texture and taste of the baked food after the addition of Starch Lite. As per Mitch Skop, director of StarchLite’s Product Development Group:

Multiple studies have been conducted on StarchLite confirming its ability to reduce the caloric impact of starchy foods. As per reports available from Skop products this product will be introduced by a specialty bakery and a pasta maker. The ingredient will be used in cereals, beverages, confectionary and other food products. This ingredient is sure to be a breakthrough if it works as beverage and bakery food industry will add to the efficiency of their products by adding Starch Lite to their products
