Howard K. Stern has filed a defamation lawsuit against John O’Quinn, attorney for Virgie Arthur, Anna Nicole Smith’s mother.
Attorney L. Lin Wood filed the lawsuit on behalf of Stern in the federal court in West Palm Beach, Florida. The suit alleges that John O’Quinn defamed Stern in his television statements after Nicole’s death in February. Lin Wood released a statement saying,
The lawsuit focuses on Mr. O’Quinn’s recent appearances on a number of national television shows in which he has made public accusations of murder and other misconduct against Mr. Stern in connection with the Anna Nicole Smith case.
Lin Wood further added:
As stated in the complaint filed today, Mr. O’Quinn’s accusations against Mr. Stern are false and Mr. Stern seeks to hold him accountable through the civil justice system.
Stern is listed as father of Nicole’s daughter Dannielynn, on the child’s birth certificate, and was initially entangled in a courtroom battle with Larry Birkhead over the child’s paternity, until DNA results favoured Birkhead.
Baby Dannielynn is staying with Stern since Nicole’s death and Stern is happy that Birkhead, who had been visiting the child at Stern’s home, is doing a good job.
It seems now stern is ready to hand over the child’s responsibility to Birkhead, and is looking forward to settle the score with John O’Quinn.
