Pop star Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler would have never imagined that one day they would have to pay their chef a big amount of $51,000. The amount comes as a compensation for which their former chef, Jane Martin had claimed last year in July.

Martin had lodged a complaint with British employment tribunal stating that the couple became unsatisfied by her work, as she was pregnant. And now on investigations the Sting couple has been found guilty of sexual discrimination and ordered them to pay her 51,000 U.S. dollars in compensation.

Martin, 41, has worked for the pair dedicatedly cooking meals for the entire family for eight years and on knowing the pregnancy news the couple put her under pressures and forced her to work long hours. Sting is also accused of showing anger whenever she took a day off because of her illness and “grandiose ego”. The chef finally had to leave her job under disputed circumstances in April 2006.

She was hired on a salary of 28,000 pounds a year and has memories of cooking for big shots like Madonna and Sir Elton John as couple’s guests.

A panel at an employment tribunal in Southampton, southern England gave its decision and maintained that the Stings had unlawfully suspended Martin and she was a victim of sexual discrimination.

However, to be on a safe side Sting and Styler too have launched an appeal against the accusation.
