cranachanThe world’s first Porridge Bar, opened its doors to the Scotts in Edinburgh, three days back.

As oats are integral to health foods, 50 students and professional had boosted sales on the first day of the opening of the Stoats Porridge Bar. The bar charges £1.80 for a small bowl of salted porridge and £3.20 for a pot-pourri of dry fruits and oats. The Stoats Porridge was established in early 2005, but got a permanent place to operate from, this month itself. Since then it had been delivering the organic flavoured oats to the on-the go consumers in events, festivals and shopping centres. The Stoats Porridge bars are known for their original creation of flavours, the added flavours to the traditional flavours are roasted hazelnuts and white chocolate.

Apart from selling porridge in their bar, Stoats porridge will be promoting Scotland’s staple food at Treefest 2006, Scottish Countryside Alliance Grand Day Out at Gosford House, near Longniddry, Balerno Farmers’ Market., World Porridge making Championship, Whisky Live Scotland, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Loopallu Festival and the Highland Feast.

The menu shows a great revival of the bland porridge, looks like Stone was sure to win 250 customers with such interesting porridge flavors. If your mouth has started watering at the look of the Cranachan above you better rush to have it at The Stoats.
