Suchitra Sen hospitalized

Notable Bengali actress Suchitra Sen was hospitalized and admitted to ICU of a Kolkata hospital, on Tuesday, October 10, 2007. She was reported suffering from high blood pressure and fever. Suchitra, 76, may have developed some complications as she was running high fever since past few days.

Suchitra is under doctor K B Bakshi’s supervision and her condition is now reported stable and better. Though she suffered high blood pressure when admitted to the hospital but any cardiac problem has been ruled out. According to Dr. Bakshi:

There is no cause for concern. She has been kept in the ICU for isolation and better supervision.

Suchitra Sen parted away from movies 25 years back and since then she is leading her life in seclusion devoting much of her time to the Ramkrishna Mission.
She happens to be the first Indian actress to be awarded in an international film festival (in 1963 Moscow film festival) for her film ‘Saat Paake Bandha’.

Suchitra Sen’s daughter Moonmoon Sen also visited her many times in the hopital. Suchitra’s granddaughter Raima Sen was also there to visit her, whereas the other grand daughter, Ria, is expected to arrive soon.
