The secret to superior Pinot Noir is out…

The secret to superior Pinot Noir is out as the experts from the San Michele all’Adige Agrarian Institute decoded the genome of the pinot noir grape plant. This is an enormous achievement for the wine-making and agro industry in Italy. As said by Riccardo Velasco, the head of the team that decoded the DNA sequences:

Today’s event is agriculture’s equivalent of the first moonwalk. Agriculture will never be the same again.

The guys at the institute are overwhelmed as they have in their hands genome of a wine-maker’s treasure, which they claim will help them to develop more sustainable grape plants that will produce finer wines. As per Mark Skolnick, Myriad’s Chief Scientific Officer:

It’s a historic moment. Let’s hope that next time we can toast with wine obtained from this research.

Though this is a breakthrough in the agriculture this breakthrough will ultimately bring forth fruits or prove to be functional in the Wine-making business.
