Blockbuster movie Titanic’s stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio have decided to help the sole survivor of the ship’s catastrophic last voyage, the 98 year old Millvina Dean who needs help with her nursing bills.
The Hollywood pair who starred in the 1997 movie, based on the 1912 sinking of the ill-fated ship and the film’s director James Cameron contributed $30,000 to a fund, which will help Dean remain in an English Nursing Home for her treatment. A photographer, Don Mullan made an appeal in the Irish Independent newspaper. Don had been trying to sell a special photograph autographed by Millvina, titled ‘Still Surviving’, to raise money to help her. He later decided to reach out to the stars. Though he managed to convince Leo, Kate and the Director, he still hasn???t got any responses from Celine, who made a very good fortune with the song My Heart will Go On and the film studio 20th Century Fox.
Millvina was only nine weeks when The Titanic sunk; she is the only witness to one of the greatest tragedy of the world ever. The movie made a lot of profit and it was the moral duty of the stars to come forward and help someone who is now actually fighting the last battle of her life!
