The famous celebrity gossip site TMZ.com could be moved to court by the lawyers of the family of Ron Goldman for posting a manuscript of O.J. Simpson’s ‘If I Did It’ book. However, the website that is a joint venture of America Online Inc. and Time Warner Co., said that the manuscript was posted for a brief time and it had done nothing wrong. TMZ, in its defense, is emphasizing on the fact that the manuscript has been on the internet from a long time.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge, A. Jay Cristol, at an emergency hearing said that whether TMZ should be held guilty or not will soon be decided. But O.J. Simpson reacted very coolly to the matter, adding that he wasn’t involved in this at all. The book that was cancelled by Harper Collins due to widespread criticism was never published. Simpson also mentioned that he would be happy to see his book on the net.

Simpson, who was acquitted of murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Goldman in 1994, had always maintained the statement of being innocent. The book would now be out under the title Confessions of a Double Murderer. Cristol in an effort to avoid any more leaks ordered all the copies of the manuscript and related stuff to be handed over to a court-appointed trustee. However, the posting of the manuscript on the website has definitely confirmed some financial loss to the family.
