The same happened with Tom Cruise when some pranksters spread false reports that he died in a bizarre plumbing accident. Obviously, Tommy boy didn’t waste any time in rubbishing the death rumor and assuring fans that he’s alive and well.

Rumours began spreading across the internet on Friday (28May10) claiming the Mission: Impossible star had passed away following a bizarre plumbing mishap while in New Zealand. But the actor is taking the hoax in good humour, admitting he was amused by the odd manner in which he was ‘killed’. When asked if he could confirm if he was OK, he joked to MTV.com, “No, I’m not. I’m a hologram!” before adding, “I’m really alive. Did the internet get it wrong again? You can send the message out (I am still alive).”
