Risky business actor Tom Cruise is all set to play Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy Enterprises in upcoming film called ‘Playboy’. Cruise will play the 81-year-old character for director Brett Ratner.

Though nothing has been officially disclosed till now, but I strongly believe that he is the best choice and will be able to bring Hef’s character perfectly on the big screen.

Hopefully the role is also a chance where Cruise would be able to show his acting capabilities as from some past months he has been in limelight only because of his personal life, and his marriage to Katie.

Agreeing to play Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner, is a great chance for him to show that the actor can really act.

According to close source Cruise, 45, is eyeing the role of Hef and is excited to play Hef as he said:

Cruise is tickled by the project.

The film tentatively known as Playboy will showcase Hefner’s life and is expected to be released in 2009. Cruise latest release was anti-war drama ‘Lions for Lambs’ with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford.
