Actor Tom Sizemore’s 16-month prison sentence for an arrest in which police had found two bags of methamphetamines and three meth pipes in the actor’s Ford Mustang car in 2004 has been cut down to half.

The 45-year-old tough guy well known for films such as Black Hawk Down, Natural Born Killers and Saving Private Ryan will now serve nine months, after receiving credit for time that he already spent in jail and two spells in rehab.

If he behaves well in the prison, then it is more likely that he will spend only four and a half months behind bars. Earlier this week Sizemore had begged Judge Rayvis not to sentence him to prison and to give him another chance.

However the Superior Court judge Cynthia Rayvis indicated that the star has shown signs of not able to successfully sustain or complete the probation.

The Hollywood actor was on probation since October 2004. At the same time he was given a 16-month suspended jail sentence for possessing methamphetamine, a stimulant drug. In 2005, in another charge he admitted using a prosthetic penis to counterfeit a urine test.

Later on in February 2006, he admitted breaking the probation and at the same time was told to have weekly drug tests and attend a treatment clinic.

Last month police arrested him in Bakersfield, north of Los Angeles, on doubt of possession of methamphetamine and under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

For the same he was held up in prison since June 5. He is still awaiting sentence on a number of other charges, for which he may face six years in prison.

Sizemore has been in and out of California courts for years on drug charges. He has pleaded not guilty for all charges.
