Top eight technologies US Army needs before going for the next war

To ensure the safety of the country, military strength and latest technologies are very important. The U.S. military has incorporated many advancements and innovations over the years to tackle the threat from the enemies. The National Defense of U.S had listed out ten technologies that may be required by the army before going for the next war and they are:

Non-killer weapons

The U.S military had decided to use non-lethal weapons to cripple the enemy temporarily without harming the public. The weapons include rubber bullets, high capacity lights and speakers. The distraction bomb can be used for warning. Experts claim that the directed energy weapons are the best in the non-lethal technology. BAE systems and Boeing had come together to develop laser systems for ships that use non-lethal components. Besides that, the BAE systems has developed a laser which sends warnings by disorientating the enemies.

Sophisticated choppers

The choppers must travel at higher speeds and must produce low noise. In addition to that, the radars of the enemies must not detect the choppers. However, there are some practical limitations to build a chopper with all the above features. Companies are developing new choppers with enhanced technologies. Choppers are developed with sophisticated technology to reduce noise by AVX aircraft. Accordingly, Augusta Westland had implemented a methodology that reduces the dust. Moreover, the BAE system had developed a device that increases the visibility of the pilot.

Reduction of the Soldier’s burden

The soldiers had to carry heavy communication equipments, arms and rechargeable batteries. The scientists are working hard to reduce the burden off the soldiers through latest technologies and logistics. Parachutes, which are guided by the GPS, are being considered to drop supplies. Robotic vehicles may also be used to carry the supplies on the ground level. U.S army is further attempting to develop power equipments that can be worn. Designers are also designing a lightweight armor.

Enhanced buggies

The Humvees used in previous wars had caused many deaths. Vehicles with armor were required to tackle the threat of the bombs on the roads. This led to the development of the MRAP or Mine Resistant Ambush Protected trucks. The weight of these trucks was a big drawback and the companies came up with the light weighted MATV.

Now the military is redesigning the humvee as a meantime solution aside from developing trucks that are capable of withstanding the damage caused by bombs. The desired vehicle should be armored and should be able to move faster on all types of terrains.

Automated submarines

The Navy is developing a fully automated submarine, which will remain underwater and gather information about the movements of the enemy. These automated systems will work as the extended part of the submarines. These fully automated systems do not require the presence of humans. They may be fitted with sensors that may help to attack the enemy submarines.

The submarines can reach the shallows, eliminate mines and provide intelligence. They can also be used to check contamination and locate debris.

Powerful boats

Though the Navy has many patrol boats, it is eyeing to develop a craft called the force protection coastal. It is capable of carrying 5 to 7 sailors and can speed up to 35 knots. It also comes equipped with guns.

Normally boats are used to protect the ships from the enemies. Researchers are conducting various experiments to build stronger and lighter boats. The weight of the armor can be diminished by using the lightweight propulsion systems.

Communication

The U.S military is working on 3G networks, which can be deployed when required. Though the troops may need the speed of the mobile networks, the limitation of the bandwidth is a big hurdle. In future, the soldiers will use smartphones amid the concerns about security. Commanders and soldiers must also get access to the intelligence information to avoid any misleading. The latest tactical network will give information about the position of the enemy troops.

Self-thinking robots

Until date, humans monitor and control robotic elements on the sea, ground and air as well. Developing robotic models capable of taking decisions independently will be a big challenge. These robots will reduce the deployment of humans in the war front.
