Top Excuses Guys Give for Failing a Test

One is often reminded of the childhood when one used to fail at every step in formal education. Thanks to the fact that one never considered it necessary. Today I stand tall with the fact that I am earning at least 10 times of what my college topper does. However here is a list of the worst ever excuses guys come up with for failing their tests. Yes, they couldn’t get more hilarious than that!

Mother and problem child. Frustrated mother trying to talk with her depressed son sitting on the couch

I tried my best but…

Yup! This was my ultimate favourite. Means when you don’t get any other excuse, just say that you gave your best attempt but had to bow in front of God’s will. The point is that if you have studied and gave your best attempt, it should not be your fault. However in my case my parents were smart enough to know that it doesn’t happen every time that one studies and fails. So I always ended up being slapped by my mom.

Paper was out of syllabus

If you don’t have anything else to say, just say that the paper was out of syllabus. Finish. Means you have totally washed your hands off every responsibility. If something is not in syllabus, there is no point that you will be able to do it in the exam.

Short of time

I knew each and every question, but the paper was extremely long mom! This was one excuse I always made for failing exams. However, it’s idiotic because 3 hours can never be so short that you are not even able to complete 40% of the paper. And in my case my parents always caught me. Their answer was clear. If others could complete it on time, why couldn’t you do so? Obviously then, this is a lame excuse.

The teacher who taught us was crap

Now if we couldn’t learn anything in the classroom, how the hell will we write in the exam? So if the teacher is crap, then how will we learn the subject? But this again had a backdrop. If the teacher was so bad then why didn’t you complain? And how were all others able to perform in their exams.

However, in most cases parents are smart enough.

Summary – Of course, failing isn’t easy but the tougher part is facing the parents at home. How do you bring back the dreaded news?
