Top five political incidents of all time

A politician or a political figure is the one who serves a country and holds a decision making position in government. Without politicians, no state is complete as they are the one who strive to make decisions that lead to betterment of a country. Sometimes, people and governments around the world use “political violence” to accomplish political goals. Genocide, Police Brutality, Capital Punishment, Human Rights Violation, War and Torture are some major categories of political violence. Any of them may result in the worst political incidents and here is our list of top four political incidents of all time.

French revolution

The French Revolution that started in the year 1789 and ended in 1799 has had the greatest impact on the political culture, all over the world. French authorities introduced “Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen” that straight away led to the right of equality and freedom. From that moment, the law has been accepted worldwide by various nations allowing individuals to elect their leader by voting system. This all started when peasants, who were oppressed by leaders opposed them so strongly that they had to make innovative laws.

Aam Aadmi Party

The name Aam Aadmi simply means “common man.” The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is an Indian political party that was formed when Arvind Kejriwal and Anna Hazare (activists) stood against each other deciding whether the India Against Corruption movement should be politicized or not. The party was formed on 26 November 2012 and from then AAP has made many protests including campaigns against water and electricity price-rise in Delhi. Another campaign demanded justice for victims of rape, which is a major crisis in India.

Tiananmen Square protest of 1989

Tiananmen Square protests also known as June Fourth Incident took place in 1989. One million people were a part of this protest, which was mostly led by students of China. The authorities opposed with tanks and killed hundreds of protestors there. It was due to the death of a liberal reformer, Hu Yaobang, that these protests were triggered. Students wanted a political reform and were successful in enforcing martial law in most areas of Beijing.

Nelson Mandela’s political affairs

Nelson Mandela served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was in prison for over 27 years and after coming out he emerged to be the nonviolent political leader opposing apartheid. It was some time ago only that racism was a major issue, still, in some places racism exists. However, Mandela stood against this practice and eradicated racism from most places in South Africa by becoming a Political leader. He is considered one of the most influential political personalities.
