Welcoming a new member to our family may not be that easy always but we need to adapt to it accept it with a positive outlook. If you love and respect your brother then there is no problem in accepting his new friend. You need to reach out to this new person and make her feel like one of you people and in turn be friends with her. You must approach her with a fresh mind and it is your responsibility to make her feel as if she is one of the family members. Remember that she is a totally new member in your family. The more acceptance you provide her with the closer she will come to you. One more crucial thing is that she is the one who is presently quite close to your brother. So if you are not able to strike the correct balance with her then the equation between you and your brother will also be hampered.

Avoid natural Rivalry – Every family experience some kinds of changes over time and it might affect some members. Being jealous of your brother’s girlfriend won’t help; rather you should accept the fact that your brother is having a new friend and accept this new member as your friend too.
Develop friendship – Being nice and communicating with your brother’s girlfriend as a friend will help in developing a bond of friendship. If you are a sister then you can also go to movies or shopping with your brother’s girlfriend which will help in developing a bond with her.
Take interest – Knowing about the person is most important. Talk with her and enquire about her fields of interest, aspirations, hobbies and what she prefers and what she doesn’t. In this process of knowing each other you might make a good friend. Spend time with her if possible however little it may be. Showing interest in that person means that person will also be interested in you.
Develop a connection – Share your views about different topics with her. This way you will get to know her better. Share some stories about your brother with her, like when he was young or any memorable incidents about him. You should remember that as a brother or sister you have n important role to play in building bridges between your brother and his girlfriend.
