Traditional Roast dominates Top Ten British food choices

traditional turkeyA recent survey has shown that UK is getting more loyal to its traditional roast in contrast with the New American cuisine, which seeks more flavors in its foods. The preference of the Brits is restricted to roasts and it has amazingly replaced curries in a couple of days. The Red Tractor Food Assurance Team has found out that 38 percent of 1600 people surveyed in the UK said that their favorite is the traditional British roast and this roast nearly replaced steaks, chips and curries. As per Beverly Wilson, head of marketing at Red Tractor:

For a long time curry has been documented as the UK’s favourite food but, amazingly, Thai curry rated only fifth in this latest poll and Indian curries were relegated to number eight.

The result of the survey of Red Tractor rates the top ten British Foods in the following manner:

1.Traditional roast dinner
2. Steak and chips
3. Fish and chips
4. Lasagne
5. Green Thai curry
6. Spaghetti Bolognese
7. Shepherd’s/Cottage pie
8. Chicken tikka masala
9. Sweet and sour pork
10. Bangers and mash

The ratings show that British preference shows a mixed choice of dishes and spice dominates here but giving priority to the traditional foods.
