At the Los Angeles awards ceremony of Santa Barbara International Film Festival on November 16, John Travolta surprised all by kissing Kirk Douglas on his lips.
Travolta had come on stage to receive a gong for excellence and versatility and Douglas even patted his shoulders and stretched forward his hand to congratulate him but Travolta mischievously kissed him on lips avoiding the hands forwarded to shake.
At the age of 90 and after maintaining his manly image in almost 90 films, this event must have been the most shocking experience for Douglas.
The horrified look on his face shows that he must be thinking that it would have been better if he had acted upon the horror crucifixion at the end of his famous film, ‘Spartacus’, rather than such a show of affection in public.
Travolta’s famous films include Saturday Night fever, Grease and pulp Fiction and after this event it doesn’t seem that Travolta is any more interested in macho image. He plays buxom housewife in his latest film, Hairspray.
