U2 becomes the highest earning band ever

Imagine performing in a packed stadium with full concert style stage with all the lights and monster sound systems. Add to that, a money making mechanism that follows you around the globe! The Irish rock band, U2, seems to be on a money roll these days after they were named the highest earning band in the world after their recent tour performance at Sao Paulo???s Morumbi Stadium, Brazil.

According to The Sun,

Following the band’s second show at Sao Paulo’s Morumbi Stadium, the gross takings for the Irish four-piece’s current global trek passed £305.50 million. The huge profits dwarf those of the previous record holder – the Rolling Stones and their A Bigger Bang tour of 2005-2007. They’ve also beaten their own record set by their Vertigo 2005 tour that attracted a total audience of 4,619,021. It’s estimated that by the time they play their final show of the tour, on July 30th in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, they will have raked in £427.8 million in total from their run of international sold out performances.
