The blast that ripped through the Pune’s popular German Bakery has taken place at a time when dialogues between Pakistan and India were on the cards. Naturally, most of the paid political analysts are bound to see it as an attempt to scuttle the peace talks between the nations.
These analysts are bound to project the impression that “all is well” and dialogue is only noble way to keep South Asian region above tension. After series of some furious exchange of views in the bureaucratic and political channels ,the Pune bomb blast like many other previous blasts will be consigned to pages of history.A customary pledge by PM and his other colleagues will be taken to save India from future attacks.Nothing else other than oft repeated superficial gestures will be witnessed by all of us .
In an article that deals with role of Headley ,one of the readers posted an interesting comment: “There is a bigger menace in this world than Al Qaeda: the Pakistani ISI. Even if its India-specific activities are ignored by the West, no one can ignore the nuclear proliferation of the ISI-propped AQ Khan network. The world will be a better place when it takes collective action to dismantle the ISI.”
Though we are exploring the possibility of Headley’s role in the attack, a leading US-based strategic think-tank in a report published in Indian Express has not ignored the role of indigenous Islamist groups.
“The German Bakery in Pune was a terrorist target because it was frequented by foreigners and the possibility of an indigenous terror group being involved in the attack could not be ruled out, a leading US-based strategic think-tank has said.
“No group has yet claimed responsible for the Pune attack, but indigenous Islamist groups certainly cannot be ruled out,” Stratfor said in its analysis of the Pune terrorist attack on Saturday that killed nine people. ”
Interestingly,Chidamabarm has denied the failure of intelligence this time.I don’t know what impression he is trying to generate via such statements but it’s time for him to wipe out sleeper cells used by likes of Headley and others.
It remains to be seen what action is taken by the government to wipe out various dangerous Islamic institutions operating in India.The top internal security analysts are of the opinion that likes of Indian Mujahideen, an offshoot of the banned Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), are in league with terrorist orgainzations operating in Pakisatn.
“But senior internal security sources said suspicion had fallen on Pakistan-based separatist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), which has been blamed for the Mumbai attacks, and a local militant group called Indian Mujahideen (IM) because both had in the past been behind bombings in India.
Indian police say the Indian Mujahideen is an offshoot of the banned Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), but that local Muslims appear to have been given training and backing from militant groups in neighbouring Pakistan and Bangladesh.”
I don’t know what concrete actions is this government going to take but I am sure the usual delay is bound to prove lethal for the citizens of this peace loving nation called “Bhārat Gaṇarājya” !!
