A happy man marries the girl he loves; a happier man loves the girl he
they say, and Abhishek Bachchan is the man basking in the notion.
Abhishek spoke about his tryst with the cupid, the celebrated marriage, future plans and, most candidly, about his gorgeous wife Aishwarya Rai, recently in an interview.
The couple met for the first time while shooting for Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Abhishek tenderly recollects:
It was the first time we worked together and we have fond memories of the film. It was a lot of fun.
The movie sank without a trace but it launched Aishwarya-Abhishek friendship. Then, the couple worked together in Kuch Naa Kaho but love began as much as five years later, during the shooting of Dhoom 2.
We started dating in the latter half of the film as Dhoom 2 was shot for over a-year-and-a-half.
Aishwarya and Abhishek have had their share of broken hearts and sour relationships before they started dating each other. Salman was the first entry for Ash. Aishwarya was ascribed Bollywood novice (she was high on sought list, after winning the assumingly elusive Title for India, ‘Miss World’), when smash hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam happened. The movie pitch-forked Ash in Film Industry, and instilled Salman in her personal life. Aishwarya’s Mother Vrinda, reportedly didn’t approve Salman and the controversy magnet himself was always bordered by problems, which weakened the relationship. When Salman bickered with Ash on the sets of Chalte Chalte, Ash called it quits.
Then, along came Vivek Oberoi, both Ash and Vivek signed movies, stage shows, events, together and offered many prayers in South Indian Temples. Vivek acknowledged on a TV interview that he and Ash are seeing each other and matrimony is not far-flung. This irked Ash and the relationship already in shambles due to Ash’s busy schedule and less communication with beau, ended.
Abhishek and Ash did many movies Umrao Jaan, Guru etc together but Dhoom 2 finally carried the mutual admiration to a relationship. So was there a defining moment? No, says Abhishek.
There was no defining moment as such. You just know… you don’t know. I cannot explain in words.
And Abhishek goes ga ga for Ash…
There are so many things I love about Aishwarya. She’s very human, unaffected and down-to-earth. A simple girl, who’s always smiling and that’s very endearing.
And Is Ash manning the house?, smiles Abhishek:
Yes, she tries to make me eat healthy food as she knows I have unhealthy habits.
Love is in the Air!
