Looks like the royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William is going to have competition from an unexpected couple ??? gypsy bride Mary and her bridegroom Paddy. Stars of the reality show My Big Fat Royal Gypsy Wedding, Mary, 23 and Paddy will have their wedding telecast next Thursday at 9pm on Channel 4 with a repeat telecast on April 29th, the day of the royal wedding at 10.25 pm as well. Expected to attract a viewer ship of up to eight million, the reality show might just as well steal the royal wedding???s thunder.
Right from the moment of the gypsy bride Mary arriving at the church in a Cinderella-style carriage drawn by six white horses wearing pink feathers, till the revelry with the three tables encompassing giant wedding cake, all stops have been pulled out by the reality show to ensure grandeur. Even the wedding gown of the bride is as imperial as can be. Designed by Thelma Madine at her Liverpool boutique, the frothy and bejeweled wedding gown almost engulfs the bride with its many net layers.
However, the only hiccup of My Big Fat Royal Gypsy Wedding is that Mary kept Paddy, the groom waiting an hour for her to arrive ??? something that won’t happen at the royal wedding where everything is timed until the last minute. Though, commoners Paddy and Mary, are currently honeymooning they sure would be dreaming of catching the nation???s frenzy on the day of the royal wedding with their to-be televised fairytale-like wedding ceremony. Till then, let’s just wait and watch!
